obsession

I feel like a theme of this movie is that our obsessions can kill us. Because Michael doesn't seem to actively seek anyone out. All the main characters go looking for him. And Tommy, Marion, Lonnie. They've seemingly made their lives/identities around Michael, couldn't let go, and got killed. Had they moved far away and stayed out of it, they'd not have died like that. Same for Laurie and Lindsey arguably, though they're still alive.

True. It also seems like many of them saw their Michael run-in as their claim to fame. At some point some victims become victims of their victimhood, and that’s a choice. Sad.

For sure, Tommy and the gang basically going to the bar to drum up attention.

Probably free drinks. The crowed should booed.

“40 years of this bullshit, Tommy. Every year you milk this crap.”
