Can't believe they made a movie where he is Good guy and she is kinda ungrateful A-Hole

I was actually shocked that this was allowed these days. With all that wokeness and constant "Man bad, Woman good" narrative. This was very weird to see in 2023. This felt like those good old days regular big budget action movies.

I'm actually shocked not to see uproar in press about it. Remember how they got Offended for Passengers. Because movie gave Chris Pratt happy ending?

Here we have this privileged white man. Who turned out villain later in life. And they show up that he was not bad at all. He was just floating in life. Being poor and getting education and hope to get good job.

And then kinda fell for this girl tribute. And in circumstances of events he actually cheated for her to stay alive. Put his life and career at risk and was banished. All because he broke rules to save her.

And then he Again broke the rules while working in District 12. And allowed her to convince him to run away. When he will certainly be hanged this time when he would be caught. Again he sacrificed everything for her. And then.... for no real reason she betrays him and runs away. Making it seem like she is about to rat him out to authorities. Not even explaining why.

At which point he was like: "Fine, I'm out. Enough is enough. I did everything and sacrificed my life and career for her. And she doesn't even appreciate this and dumped and betrayed me. Enough with this love thing. I don't even know her that much. It's just small teen crush".

Then just goes back to his station and returns to work and old life in Capitol, embracing his new job and career.

Keep in mind that none of which would probably happen if she would not betray him and vanish. So it was HER who made him future Villain. She pushed him to that.

That was big turning point in his life when things could go both ways. And he chose good way - to help her and be with her. But she betrayed him and thus pushed on evil side. Because he understood that he can't trust anyone anymore and it's not worth to do good to anyone as they would not appreciate it and he would be the one who would suffer consequences.

I think it is only a small contribution to that, the high office changes people. There will be a lot of people trying to use him, lie to him, betray him along the way.

Just look at Trump, what he has gone through, if he wasn't hardened by his business dealings, he is definitely hardened now by the ruthless political game.

I doubt he is the same person as before.

I think anyone went through all that would have become cynical and ruthless, it is the price of high office.
