Second episode not feeling 'Are You Afraid of the Dark" ish at all

First episode seemed like a decent enough revival.

But I'm not feeling it now that the second one is on. They violate two major traits of AYAOTD:

1) The show is an ANTHOLOGY series. Every episode is supposed to be a NEW story, NOT a story arc that picks up where the previous episode left off. ("Scary Stories To Tell In the Dark" from this summer had the same issue. Hello, entertainment industry, you can STILL do anthology series and get viewers to watch! Just go check out Black Mirror)

2) The FOCUS on the show is supposed on the campfire story TOLD by the Midnight Society, NOT on the lives of the Midnight Society members themselves. Did they even TELL a story around the campfire in episode 2? I think they disbanded the meeting like 5 minutes into the episode. No, that's NOT how AYAOTD works.

I bet episode 3 will be more of the same "Carnival of Doom" stuff again. Not satisfied. Bring back "Sardo" (you can cast a new actor if you want since its 20 years later, but at least give the original actor a cameo somewhere) for a new generation!

Yeah, I already expected it to be like that. Thanks for confirming the exact concerns I had. I have no interest in watching it now.
