I wonder how big of roles they will get. I hope donnie gets a huge role since he's teaming up with John wick. Donnie knows MMA and everything Kung fu so he can do both styles.

They needed to bring in some more talent to up the movies. I was like man they need to bring in donnie yen on the 4th one and it happened. Thoughts?

MMA and everything Kung fu

Mixed martial arts consists of Kung Fu.

Otherwise, carry on.

Explain.

Kung Fu is martial arts. MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) is literally Bruce Lee's philosophy of Jeet Kune Do in action: take what works from every style and combine it together, hence the acronym for Mixed Martial Arts (MMA).

Tony Ferguson includes a lot of Wing Chun in his fighting, especially some of the traps and blocks. Anderson Silva incorporated some Aikido into his fighting repertoire after training with Steven Seagal.

And Stephen "Wonderboy" Thompson includes lots of Taekwondo into his arsenal as well as Tetsushin-ryū Kempo, hence why his kicks are so clean.

When people say "MMA" they seem to be under the illusion it's different from other martial arts, when in reality it's just a combination of them.

I believe what you were actually referring to was Donnie Yen's inclusion of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Greco Roman Wrestling techniques into his fighting catalog, both of which are endemic to the culture of UFC. But given how diversified Yen's fight choreography is, everything he does is MMA, in its truest form, since -- unlike most UFC fighters -- Yen includes more than just boxing, Muay Thai, and BJJ/Wrestling into his library of fighting technique.
