Synopsis is a bit misleading

The show was decent and kept my attention, but I came in expecting something a bit different. "The game is the only way out" almost implies a supernatural element at work here or some sort of dystopia, but this is just a shitty middle of nowhere town set in the real world. There are a ton of ways to get out, the most obvious of which is to simply get your shit and go. Nobody is holding these people prisoner.
