Never heard of the comics before but I really enjoyed it.I hope writers on shows like Batwoman,Supergirl,Charmed and Chilling adventures of Sabrina learn from this.You don't need preachy SJW undertones and cringy feminist writing to make a solid female led action show.

I almost didn't watch this because I thought it was going to be an over the top Mary Sue, because that is how Dex was presented in the Promos. It's just a tad-almost there. I agree it wasnt like those other shows with the preachy SJW, or cringe moments, but I felt a lot of over the top things went down with the female lead, where I was almost like, no. Some cheesy moments, but if that's what it's going to be....I like Dex's bond with her brother, but I don't like some of the other characters.
I know nothing about the comics either.
Definitely some over the top moments but I'm ok with that.the only character that I didn't really care for was the cop character.
