Much better than the first movie

The first movie was good and all, and I own the first three movies and this remake. But the remake was far better than the first film. When this was in theaters I watched this, followed by the first movie to see how it holds up. The first movie's good, but there are also a ton of problems with it that doesn't make it as great as it once was. Still good, but this is far better.

While I don't think this is better then the original, it has some good ideas and scenes. The original is a classic and I can't wait to scare the piss out of my kids with it. Remake is a watchable film but gotta stick with the original.

reply

Stop smoking crack or are you a studio plant??

The original is WAY better than this garbage.

reply

Agree Predator, the OP is a studio plant and studio plants are on IMDB and i know what good filmmaking is, this remake is just a soulless CGI tainted (CGI and horror don't mix) and boring remake of a classic that should never be remade and i'm glad it flopped.

"Unicorn, mermaid, vampire, sorceress! No name you'd give her would surprise me i love whom i love"

reply

I agree, there's absolutely no way that any sane person could legitimately think this was better than the original!

reply

That does not necessitate OP being a plant. theres a very large number of people going around that could in no way be called sane.

No. Not at all.

reply

In many many ways, my friend.

reply

The Family Guy version was better than the remake.

reply

I get that art is subjective. That said, you're wrong--the original is superior in every way; this remake is drivel and there's no debate.

reply

Jerry Goldsmith's score from the original ALONE is better than this piss poor excuse for a movie.

reply

Jerry Goldsmith's score for the original elevated it to another level. An essential element among many that made the 1982 classic the revered film that it is.

reply

Amen to you two! Goldsmith’s “Poltergeist” score is absolutely beautiful, horrifying & sad all at the same time.

reply

This was below average and forgettable.Hated all the terrible CGI.Nowhere near better than the original.

reply

The original was atrocious anyway, both are bad films.
