Extremely Disappointing

If they could just clean up the writing and tone down the modern dialogue this wouldn't be terrible. After they get through the rift and the old guy is monologuing about how dangerous the wilderness is and needing to be aware at all times, I'm thinking to myself if this guy dies I know this series is going to really suck, and then he immediately gets shot with an arrow out of the blue.

It reminds me a lot of the failed Shannara series in terms of it would rather focus on teenage angst, romance, and checking boxes than a decent story, character building, fantasy/adventure or even Willow himself as he takes a back seat.

Willow was a fun fantasy/adventure with great characters and an amazing score. The elements are here to create that as I think the actors are fine, but the writing and dialogue are dismal. It feels like this show should be called The Elora Diaries and Willow. Who was this made for because it doesn't feel like it was made for fans of the original. When I think of the film Willow, I think of fun adventure film sprinkled with some dark fantasy elements not annoying teenagers and romance! I've only made it through two episodes and it's going to be a struggle to finish.
