Every scene that has the potential to create tension is undermined in this series by interrupting things in order to do some quirky dialogue/joke, it is ridiculous. Yelena in particular was completely undermined as an assassin set on avenging Natasha, at no point was there any sense of tension or fear that she was dangerous and that she could actually do what she supposedly set out to do. No gravity to any situation at all.

I disagree, I thought those scenes were both hilarious, and extremely tense in an unusual way.
Was she going to let her feelings for Kate interfere with her mission? Was her thirst for vengance going to lead to her hurting the one person on Earth who could bring her some real happiness? Was something really funny going to happen next... or something horrific?
Very well-directed bit there! No, it was the final confrontation with Hawkeye that had me rolling my eyes.
