I think this was surprisingly decent. I do think it would have benefited to go slightly more to the extremely rediculous side of it. It walked the line between action/comedy and parody,and should have committed a little more to one or the other.
shareI just finished it and thought it was a surprisingly fun film. Not a total winner, but an enjoyable little diversion to watch when you're in the mood for something light.
I looked on RT and it only has a 52% critics' score and a 49% audience score. I expected better, especially from audiences.
Tom is great, as he usually is, and Diaz is perfect for her role. The tone is light, the jokes mostly land and there are some good action sequences as well.
It's a nice and effective piece of escapist entertainment.
