Did you like Jude Law as Watson?

Because I did:)
And I would like to know if Jude Law had met your expectations or not?

Law should have been Holmes. Downey does not rate Sherlock.

Law is far from looking like Holmes, and I think he fits better as Watson..To be honest,Robert's look is not like real Holmes's look in the book.In the book Holmes looks like Peter Cushing or Basil Rathbone, actors who also played Sherlock in some movies. But Sherlock's personality, and way of being is quite similar to Robert's perfomance. So for me it is ok.
I also remember how in "Scandal in Bohemia" Irene was described as amazingly beautiful. She was famous for being "the prettiest thing under a hat".And in the movie Rachel McAdams is not so scandalously beautiful..in fact I think they might have got a better looking Irene.

Downey is a disgrace to Rathbone. Do you agree?

Yes, very much. Thought he was a perfect Watson, and I'm not a fan of Jude.

For me, yes. He played the part excellently and made a believable Watson.
My only complaint would be his demeanor towards Holmes was more of a babysitter. I’m not sure in the series, but Watson seems to be more a babysitter role than he has been an assistant. Maybe it’s just me.

i did. i think he's the best Watson of all the screen versions.

I think Jude Law was a perfect choice for the role, but I'm not crazy about the temperament they had him portray Watson as having. Watson came across as constantly ticked off at Holmes (yes, Holmes and Watson had disagreements in the stories, but it wasn't constant like in the movie). That wasn't Jude Law's fault. It was just what he was given to do and came part and parcel with the exaggerated/amped up approach of the movie. Overall, I think he did very well with what he was given to do. He was very convincing as the competent doctor/war veteran/ladies' man that I've always envisioned the Watson of the stories as.

I liked him a lot as Watson. Thought he was a great choice.

I liked him very much (and laughed yesterday watching The Grand Budapest Hotel noticing he plays an writer there) and thought he came across as a great Watson. My problem was with Robert Downey Jr. and his sider of the performance (I usually love him) because at times it made me wonder why they would hang out together.
