Why I give it 2 of 10

I have not watched it more than 15 minutes. I'm sure if we see 15 minutes of instant coprophagy the rest of the movie will be 1 hour and 15 minutes of coprophagy.

Epigonism after Tim Burton does not help because Tim never hates any character he creates, but poor Mary, Max and Co were really hated by the greedy and schizoid authors.

Let's bury it and never see again.

You've missed out on an incredible film! It's tragic, dark, sad and moving yet hilarious at the same time... Not many films can make you laugh and want to cry at the same time!

So, you give the film 2 out of 10, fair enough, far from agree with you, but you can judge a film after 15 min and then give it a rating? One should probably only rate a movie when you have seen it and nothing else. That you give up after 15 minutes, it's your loss and one day you should sit down and use the 1 1/2 hour and then see it and give it the rating you think.

If I could finish the crapfest that was Machete, (that's right, crapfest, instead of saying coprophagy), then you could finish Mary and Max before making up your mind. The Tim Burton comparison was ridiculously specious (hey, I can haz thesaurus).

Your "review" is pointless. That you didn't like the film is fine, but you make no attempt to back up your argument other that to call the film indulgent coprophagy.
If you have nothing to say ...

I give the OP 2 out of 10 for his ability to read a dictionary.

Impressive big words there, but is Mary and Max really deserving of only two stars if you've seen only 1/5 of it? Statistically, I guess you would have given it a full ten stars if you'd seen all of it.

I guess it could be compared to Tim Burton's films--the monochromatic color scheme, the dark situations of misfit characters, the beauty and hope he finds in out-of-the-way places . . . I'm curious as to why you call the authors "greedy and schizoid"--they certainly made no money at the box office, and if by "schizoid," you mean emotionally unpredictable, that may have been intentional, as they were depicting a character with Asperger's, a condition that's characterized by emotional ups and downs.

You're entitled to your opinion, and I'm not invalidating that, but your review doesn't fully explain your rating, and is ultimately unfair based on only a partial viewing of the film.
