Justice League Color Pallette, editing, locations, CGI, discussion

Let’s discuss here just how bad the colour palette was (mostly red glowing environments) and how most locations other than batcAve take place in some form of industrial wasteland or industrial warehouse/structure. Nothing really occurs in the city except very few moments of Superman return.

The shots for the most parts are all too zoomed into singlular characters, there are almost no wide shots. Even in action scenes the camera is so badly zoomed into the character or the batcar and ur not actually seeing much of the scenery or action going around.

CGI looked unfinished, Superman cgi face wtf? Set pieces clearly looked fake, suits in some scenes looked horrible, in one scene Batman has straight chalk lines for scratches on his suit it was a joke.

I haven't seen it yet. But from the trailers and spurious images online:

- Obvious Fox's Quicksilver moment rip off is obvious
- Damn ugly CGI all around
- Cyborg looks craptastic
- AquaThor calling Bruce "Batman" in front of civilians [wtf], followed by a laughable water back-splash
- Still the same goddamn "seriousness" dark filter
- Absolutely egregious Villain
- Superman's horrendous upper lip CGI
- Goggles! Goggles everywhere!
- Flash is in because... he.... needs friends.... -.-"

Cyborg looks so bad, his metallic body just look like silver coloured CGI triangles floating together, there is no look or sense of a solid body.

The aqua man water backsplash scene was so out place and suddenly rock music came out of nowhere, pathetic editing.

Dude, just saw it last evening [I couldn't see a reason to spend the money on a ticket, so I downloaded it].

It's even worse than I had imagined.

Cyborg was really REALLY bad. I had exactly the same view "is he made of floating triangles?". Looks pathetic.

When Supes wakes up and fights WonderWoman and AquaThor, that moment when Cyborg flies towards him to "hold" him, looks atrocious. Like a really bad copy paste. You even get the sense that Cavill didn't know they'd put Cyborg in front of him.

A lot of times the CGI upper lip was so distracting. My wife even regarded "Wow, he looks like a donkey" and she didn't even know about the CGI thing.

There are a ton of things in the movie that made no sense at all too: The Parademon exploding and leaving the 3 cubes impression; the drawing on the wall at the fishermen's bar; the way Steppenwolf took the third box and a whole lot more.

I don’t know what whedon was thinking. He was supposed to come in and finish snyders work, not make it his own. You can see the difference in colour in the trailers before and after synder left. It’s like whedom was mucking around with the colour temperature and didn’t know how to set it back. It was all very marvelish.

Superman looked more like superman’s stunt double having a stroke than he did Henry cavill at times. I’m guessing they got the guys that do the cheap talking dog movies for cavills face. It was terrible.

The action scenes seemed to be edited to fuck. Lots of stuff from trailers was missing.

The score. The fucking score. Danny elfman ruined the movie in the opening scene by showing us he was doing a sequel to Tim burtons batman movies. Horribly out of place. To think this was used instead of whatever junkie xl had come up is a travesty. Only explanation that would allow it to be is that junkie xl shit the bed without Hans zimmer collaborating.

The locations were all just shit. No other word will do. There was nothing that stood out. Say what you want about bvs but at least it had its moments of unforgettable scenes. I don’t even have much else to say as they were that forgettable.

All in all I’m hoping there will be a Snyder cut with elfmans score ripped out. I not hopeful it will make for a better film, but you never know.

All good points stated here, I think the whole thing is so messed up at this stage it needs a desperate reboot.

A curio:

I am subscribed to Junky's youtube channel because, like him, I have a thing for synthesizers. But the impression I have of the man is that he likes to touch them more than actually build music.

This becomes obvious when he spends a lot of videos talking about all the synths he has, with an attitude [something like "see, I have this ultra rare E-MU 2 and no one else does, nah nah nah nah nahhhhhh]

Can you actually call it a color palette though?? It's more like blue wash on every shot. There's no actual real color in films anymore.
