It's a guys movie, isn't it?

I'll admit it had some very funny moments, but I'm thinking that this is really geared for guys. Just finished watching it for the first time and all I could imagine is a group of guys laughing their butts off at stuff that I found only mildly funny. I do have a new-found appreciation for Robert Downey, Jr. Even though I always liked him in just about everything, he was FANTASTIC in this!

Chick here, and I thought it was funny.

This is like the first movie I've seen with all males and no females (if you count the background extras though).

Life is like a beautiful melody, only the lyrics are messed up.

I don't know, my wife loves this movie.

I know, right? Everytime I watch this movie I'm blown away by his performance.

Prof. Farnsworth: Oh. A lesson in not changing history from Mr. I'm-My-Own-Grandpa!

reply

I don't think so.

I'm a girl and this may be one of the funniest films I've seen.
Than again I love action films.

I am female and I like this movie, but I wish it was toned down a bit though, some parts were rather vulgar.

I hope I didn't offend anyone.

Spoiler:
By the way, I know this is a silly question but the Cockburn character died of the explosion, right?

reply

It was a real explosion from an old landmine, and that was really his head Tugg was playing with (trying to show the others it was actually a prop).

reply

Ha! Wrong.. I'm about as girly as you can get and saw this for the first time 3 nights ago, still laughing! I woke up in the middle of the night laughing. It was/is almost painfully funny for this GIRL. 😉 Gonna watch it again too!

It is a guys film through and through that women can enjoy.

It was made by men for men i.e. The kind of film they would want to see based on their male interest but doesn't alternate women.

It only alienate based on whether the person of any gender doesn't like war films or base humour in some places.

I liked it
