He was careless when it came to his former friend.
He left his friend's calling card and I.D at the crime scene. I guess he didn't care he signed a death warrant for his friend's family in the next film.

shareYou talking about the "guy who sits behind a desk"?
share"I told you, I sit behind a desk now. I take my orders from someone who sits behind a bigger desk. Come on! Seven dead bodies. Three in hospital. A building destroyed! Total chaos at the airport? He wanted your ass in chains! It's the best I could do. I'm sorry."
shareYeah, I thought you were talking about him.
shareI'm not exactly sure if he left the card on purpose or not. Mills is known for his meticulous attention to detail. Seems kind of out of character to make a mistake like that.
shareThe guy took it from him when he entered, I doubt he had the time to look for the card after the shootout and before the police came.
shareNo I don't think he did care. It is unfortunate for Jean-Claude's family, but Jean-Claude should've known better. If a person is going to take out dirty laundry for a price, they know the risks.

Bryan knew Jean-Claude well enough to know that, sitting behind a desk or not, he'd either (A) be able to protect himself from the Albanians or (B) be working with the Albanians.
Either way, leaving Jean-Claude's card wouldn't be signing a death warrant. More like leaving evidence that Bryan himself is "connected" and not someone to mess with
