3 guys and a hammer, much more disturbing and real... not a "true story" I mean REAL

reply

Shut up, pussy. It's just a movie.

No, actually it wasn't just a movie, it was true story of the horrible death of one man and the horrible sickness of both.

Also the human brain is not easily able to distinguish between real and unreal - if we see it, neurologically it affects us even if we try to temper that stimuli using our more "evolved" frontal lobes, what we see still goes through several sections of the brain that are less "evolved" and has it's effect - such as the amygdala, nucleus accumbens and the reticular activating system.

When the mind is studied, far from being a unified whole, it is several subsystems that process input in very different ways. Freud's subconscious is a bit simplistic and wrong but it has been demonstrated scientifically that physiologically ...

The mind functions such that various very influential parts of it don't know to say to themselves, "Shut up, pussy. It's just a movie"

No such thing as a "must not see" film. Calling it that makes it a "must see" for me. Gotta see what there was about it that put such a pickle up your butt.

reply

Dude, I watch anything - I'm a pretty sick person but there are some things a person really just shouldn't see - you're a fool if you put anything into your head without any regulation that's surely what Armin Meiwes himself did.

Do yourself a favor and don't watch.

You meant : Sickest movie ever a MUST see. Right ?

No, did you find the movie to be something that added to your humanity or took away from it?

I thought maybe you were being sarcastic.

I see what you mean, this is what I noticed about the movie.

The trouble just is the graphic depiction of some of it. The beer mug part in particular and the bathtub scene. You can't unsee stuff like that.

On the one hand Miweiss was a very troubled man and I felt bad for him, on the other there must be some limit to what we have to see in order to feel bad for someone.

There is an element of man becoming callous about horror, but there also is a place where we risk horror by pretending it doesn't exist. I'd say that this movie is one extreme and others are another extreme.

What you're talking about (the non-judgmental treatment)- I have liked in movies like Red Dragon and Citizen X - and those movies were graphic but not as bad as this one. I actually think Red Dragon and Citizen X could have been less graphic. The book Citizen X was fascinating because it showed how Chikatilo had a deformity and life in a reform school/orphanage that contributed to his crimes. It was a very kind understanding depiction, without excusing his killings.

This is not a movie to avoid because it is sick.
This is not a movie to avoid because it is gay.
This is not a movie to avoid because it has cannibalism.
This is a movie to avoid because it is terrible, terrible, bad, bad, bad, terrible. Do not see this movie. You cannot unsee it. There is better acting to be found in a Troma film. If this movie is banned in your country, send your government a thank you note. If this movie is not banned in your country, MOVE!

I haven't seen the movie (yet?), but this is by far the best post in this thread!!

I'm amazed/saddened by the amount of homophobia here. Are people really still that dumb?

These bastards!

reply

It can be a sick film, but you are a homophobe stressing on the gay theme of the film and egnoring the gore. That is sick. , ,
