Possibly the worst film I've ever seen

And I'm not the type to EVER jump on IMDB and rant and rave like this.

I don't mean to offend anyone, but... I made it through about 30 minutes before I had to turn it off.

This is some of the worst, most wooden acting I've ever seen. The dialogue is just abysmal! It seems like two hours of people stumbling around and delivering their lines with the skill and depth of a high school drama student.

And it wasn't just the delivery that was awful - the writing itself was terrible.

Am I missing something here? I think I've got pretty good taste in films, and I've heard that the novel this movie's based on is real high quality.

How did you guys manage to sit through this?

I agree...the most disgusting piece of crap I've seen in years. I really don't know if there's anything worse out there. Just revolting. I can't believe Mark Ruffalo actually agreed to star in this drek.

I'll tell you in another life when we are both cats.

If i could ever write or direct a movie, Blindness is one of the best examples of what I'd want that movie to be like. I'm surprised this movie isn't better known or applauded for how good it is.

I know right?? This movie is simply beautiful and an interesting yet very troubling take on human nature and society as a whole. Only few movies managed to leave such a mark in me and this is one of them.

Which is why i never understand the hate on this board.

Not to mention that every single person i've shown this movie to literally loved it. It is now one of the favorite movies of my brother, another friend bought the DVD after i showed it to him and a girlfriend of mine watch it on her own on my advice, she called me the next day telling me what a crazy experience it was and how she was still haunted by some scenes... Now that i think of it, the only person who didn't like it was my 18 yo younger sister who said it was "boring".

To each his own, i guess.

10/10 as for me.

I_Created_U,

I'm with you on this. An excellent slept on gem, particularly for those fascinated by apocalyptic film fare. This one's up there with The Road. I like this film and found much to assimilate by way of food for thought, inasmuch as it had me imagining trying to place myself in the same circumstances. A grim thought indeed but then my film predilection has always leaned towards challenging fillm-making.

Also, very little has been commented on regarding the superlative and unsung audio track. This is one of the few in my library of DVDs that warrants and upgrade to Blu-ray.

Glad to see not everyone on this thread is so negative about this film.

Wow, that's pretty amazing you know so many people who like this. Considering the message, dystopian future with commentary on how civilization devolves under duress, has been done many times before and executed 100 times better you either don't watch many movies or are very easily impressed.

There's no such thing as good taste in movies, and there's no such thing as "real high quality".

It's a matter of taste, opinion and preference. Furthermore, it depends on what you're in the mood for, and how you choose to experience it.

Regardless of how poor you think this movie is, you have not seen enough movies, to really be able to evaluate them comparably yet, if this is the worst you have seen.

I agree. That *beep* movie!

I forced myself to watch the entire thing and it didn't get much better. This was not an entertaining movie and not a believable story in relation to the actions of some of the people especially in the first shelter they were forced into. Waste of a good night.

I haven't finished it yet, it just doesn't seem to end. At the part where the dog goes to Julianne Moore's character. Is it worth finishing? I just keep waiting for it to end and when it seems to get close...it goes on and on and on and on...

Nah, Chappie was worse.

A bit late here, but...

I think I've got pretty good taste in films

I think you're possibly the only person in your life who actually believes that.
