Horrible.. my son fell sleep in the middle of the movie

I saw it yesterday (may 14th) in a advanced screening in Guatemala but let me say that is a horrible movie bur with pristine 3D effects.. The story has been told hundred times in other movies.. Ferngully for example.. the heroes and heroines have no charm.. the villain is very silly... I saw it with my little son (3 years old) and he fell sleep about an hour in the movie.. He gets more entertaining with the trailers of "Turbo" and "Monster University"...
In the other hand, the 3D was an achievement. Sorry but "Epic" will be a forgettable summer movie...

the problem is that you took your 3-year-old to see it. it's for older kids. i thought it was great, a modern take on fern gully. maybe the story's been told before, but what story hasn't?

Lots of people have taken their 3-year olds to PG movies before, and most of them have turned out okay, it's not anything new! Not every 3-year old in the world has the same opinion!

The problem with taking a 3 year old is not that it would somehow damage the kid. Obviously it doesn't.

The problems are:

1. The kid doesn't understand what's happening anyway, so there literally is no point to paying a cinema ticket.

2. The kid has not yet been taught proper social etiquette and will do and say whatever it thinks, thus causing annoyance to the other paying guests.

I couldn't care less if people take their kids to the cinema. But the second I go to watch a movie and some 3-year old yells/cries/comments/etc all during the movie, we have a problem, and I will complain and hopefully get your loud, annoying butts thrown out of the theater.

I agree. This movie felt totally flat to me. It took itself way to seriously and the story was awfully cluttered. I felt bad for the children in the audience who seemed totally bored and confused.

Other than Ferngully, what is the other 99 times it's been told?
And you do realise it's a PG film not a G film. So it's more for older children.

hey everyone is entitled to their own opinion - if you didn't like it fair nuff. In all fairness as others on this board has responded, you took a 3 year old with you. Kids that age generally fall asleep, especially through long films. Of course he's gonna be more entertained by watching trailers, they only go for a minute. Shame you didn't like it. You might enjoy 'The Coods'? I saw it (I'm 28! lol) and I thought it was one of the best films I've seen this year.

I'm a sucker for animated films, Ratatouille (thank heavens for spell-checkers), Meet the Robinsons...

Epic has epic visuals, but something about the characters is off. I have to agree they don't appeal very much, at least not to me.

It was an ok film to see, but yes, quite forgettable.

anyone who takes a 3 year old to a movie should be put in jail...lol.....unless you can absolutely GUARANTEE that they will be sleeping....which YOU CAN'T!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow... I didn't think my trend will have a lot of messages... I said my 3 year old son fell sleep because he WAS BORING with the movie... He loved "Monsters Inc" and "World War Z".. ok.. we watch WWZ in our home... Besides... In United States nobody takes children to the movies??.. What is the big deal taking a little child to see a movie?.. In my country there is no problem with that.. Even there are special screenings for moms who can't find a babysitter and want to go to a movie with their children.. The candystore sells diapers, milk, etc..

Well I'm in the UK and its quite normal to take three year olds to the cinema, especially if they have older siblings, you have to take them, its a family day out....whoever said, who the hell takes three year olds to the cinema, obviously dosen't have kids or is just plain ignorant. My son who is nearly 3, we took him to see Monsters university, which he loved and sat thru, probably didn't understand it but loved the visuals, where as The lego movie and Wreck it ralph, he fidgeted for most of the time lol...but thats what happens. As a parent I'm not bothered if other kids make noise, well young kids, older kids I have a problem with, but to non parents, I can understand how irritating it is, but thats life....personally I find people who make noise in the cinema when they are eating more annoying, noisy sweet wrappers are one of my pet peeves....can't you just wait till after the movie ? OH and to the OP, I'm surprised you let your three year old watch World war Z, which is far from being a kids movie lol...I wouldn't let my eight year old watch that.

Next time, get the kid some coffee.

Your son is retarded, and far too young for this great film.

You think the world is out to impress your imp? *beep* you.
