This is probably the only film where I've viewed her as her character, Christine Collins, rather then Angelina Jolie playing her character. Anyone else think this is her best movie (in terms of her acting)?
I definitely think this is her best movie. Her emotional execution was astounding in this, especially the scene where she throws the plate against the wall and shouts at the fake "Walter." The way she cried and the little whine she made while saying "I want my son back" was just so believable and incredibly done. I love her in this film and think she was the right choice for the role.
I thought she appeared too stoic, to the point of being wooden, in some of the courtroom scenes where the grisly details of the murders were undoubtedly revealed.
My thing is, why do so many on here not like her? In real life she seems like a great person who does a LOT of charitable things. I did not like her when she was with Billy Bob but since then she is a totally different person it seems.
I thought the exact opposite. Her acting was bad in this, it was Angelina Jolie the walking corpse in bad makeup and a flapper costume, not Christine Collins looking for her son.
i totally agree with this. Gia and girl Interrupted, she was basically playing her wild self. But here, christine collins is a completely different personality to play, and boy did she surprise me! well done angie! I'd say best role yet.
I'm assuming most of you are really young to have never seen her in George Wallace, Gia, or Girl, Interrupted. Because she was definitely known for her acting prior to being a sex-symbol. Tomb Raider made her a movie-star, but before that, her acting abilities got all the attention. And rightfully so. Even Original Sin, which failed mostly because of pacing and needed some serious editing, her acting was still mesmerizing in that film. Don't even get me started on A Mighty Heart.
Barf, she's a terrible actress and I have seen all those movies. Ever hear of "mugging for the camera??" She behaves like a model at a photo shoot instead of an actor. Puke on all her movies.
