Why Did She Want Him??

Okay, so maybe as a woman with brains and taste I shouldn't even bother asking...

Why the heck does Jennifer Garner's character even want the low-life? He's trash! He objectifies and demeans women! How is a man like this supposed to be attractive? And what kind of idiotic woman falls for a man like that? Honestly, I spent the entire film trying to figure out how drugged-up the screen-writers must have been to honestly believe that a man like this would be appealing to women. Are there really that many women with that low of self-esteem that they would even cast a glance at a man like this? If so, I guess the world is filled with a lot more truly brain-dead people than I thought. Scary.

She fell in love with him when they were younger, before he was the womanizer he is in the film and, therefore, knew that there was possibly something good still inside of him. If you recall, when he first showed up, she wanted absolutely nothing to do with him. Sure, she fell for his charms several times, but was never seriously considering anything with him until he started to show signs of changing back into the person she originally loved.

If you're not a jerk, women don't find you interesting.

Agreed. He was so unlikeable. I didn't see anything redeeming about him, at all.

I know who you are. I love you. I love everything about you that hurts.

I sure as heck wouldn't wanna be with a man who had had sex with rooms full of women! ICK!!!

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but that's like. I myself am a total dick to girls, and trust in one thing, if I don't want to go to bed at night alone, I don't have to. Believe me, I was conditioned to be this way, not just for the hell of it. Men who get emotionally attached get trampled on. And the best way to not get your heart broken is to pretend like you don't have one. I learned this the worst way.

And yall are out of your minds if you say Matthew McConaughey isn't a good looking guy. Just a side note ;)

Just because someone doesn't think like you, doesn't mean they're "brain dead".
Everyone isn't looking for a relationship. Many people, including women, just wanna have fun! So, in that respect, yeah, lots of women would find him attractive.

Brains and taste but a cold ass heart if you ask me. Well, maybe you are wrong about the brains for not getting the point of everything.

Like the first ghost said, she knew the REAL him. And because she knew that was still somewhere in him, she still loved him. In the end his true self came back anyways.

So the point is, he covered up who he really was with his bad boy sex appeal.....he just used it so he wouldn't get hurt again.

Why even talk about this?

Didn't everyone know that this would turn into a cliche Hollywood sappy and stupid film?

Listen to what so many of you are saying...she knew the real him from childhood. Well, at some point people outgrow even their first loves...I realize that many of you may have idealized ideas of marriage...however there's a reason why they call it PUPPY LOVE!

And incidentally, how on earth did he actually change? He essentially stole a woman from a man whom she had a relationship with...showing once again that he has no respect for relationships.

Even the casting was bad...Matthew McConaughey's accent is so thick...and Michael Douglas and Breckin Meyer have nothing resembling a thick Texan accent! Nor does Jennifer Garner!

I guess if you're Matthew McConaughey, you don't even have to have any semblance of acting talent!

This movie was LAME!
