Frontier(s) vs. Eden lake vs. Inside vs. Martyrs

Its simple, this is a fatal 4 way showdown between 4 modern horror movies that a lot of people keep talking about and are saying good things about them, so which one of these four would you add to your collection?

I have akl 4 and rate them as-

1. Eden Lake
2. Martyrs
3. Inside
4. Frontiers

All great films, just enjoyed some more than others

I've seen all but INSIDE. of those I've seen i'd put MARTYRS first, then EDEN LAKE, then FRONTIERS.

I liked MARTYRS and EDEN LAKE was okay, FRONTIERS was not very good at all though in my opinion, it was pretty boring, clichéd and not very scary or creepy at all.
I watched FRONTIERS off of the back of a review of the ten most disturbing horror movies of all time that I read somewhere on the net, it certainly did not live up to that reputation at all which only added to my disappointment, mediocre at best. I should also point out that on that list MARTYRS was number 1.

Inside. First half of that movie is just pure awesomeness. I never seen another horror movie that played with shadows like that.

Martyrs all the way. No contest. The others you mentioned can't top it. It is truly good filmmaking, and one of the best films I seen. So glad that a film of its caliber belongs to the horror genre as well.

Inside was seriously good horror. Very intense stuff. Graphic, wicked, roaring meeeeeeeeeeaness!! Brilliant! #2.

Frontier(s) was actually good. More like extreme violence paired with heavy action. Story was alright. Derivative, yes, but with a added freshness... was it because it was a French production? Maybe? Overall, a satisfying piece that delivers. #3

Eden Lake played out more like a high suspense, drama type movie, with both kids and adults. Not really my cup of tea, but it was interesting. Even though "Ils" was in the similar vein as this and was considerably less violent, I found it much creepier and engaging.

I marathoned these for some friends last night. We have themed Saturday horror night and decided on french horror this weekend. Started with High Tension to eased them in for the style and feel to expect the rest of the night. Took it up a notch with each film (Frontier(s) next then Inside) and ended with Martyrs. Mentally everyone was *beep* by the end and it was a great night.

Martyrs is the one and only real dramatic horror movie i ever saw the other has no contest.

I love Frontier(s) and Inside I rate both of them really high. Martyrs is a great movie but I have such a hard time getting through parts of it because it is so unflinching. Eden Lake though made me want to throw the DVD into the lake by my house. With that said, Eden Lake is written, directed and acted really well. I would recommend it to anyone who is too sensitive, I can see Eden messing someone up.
