maybe the worst movie i've ever seen

i went to this movie because the premise seemed amusing, because i like frank oz, and because my girlfriend loves anything with midgets in it..

wow, what a terrible disappointment. we kept looking at each other the whole time, like, is this supposed to be funny? is this supposed to be good? it has to be the least funny script ever greenlighted for a mainstream comedy.. it's not that particular actors are bad, it's just that there's _NOTHING_ good for them to do or say.

I can probably say this is the worst thing I've ever seen in a movie theater.

We walked out at about the 1-hour mark. I've only done this one other time in my life -- I walked out of Dungeons & Dragons. I think this might be worse.

It is not only the fact that the poster used the extremely outdated and non-PC word "midget", but that barely anyone chastised him for doing so. Please show a bit more class by using the term "Little Person" from now on. After all, we do live in the 21st century now.

Midget is actually an official term for anyone under 4"10, my godmother is a midget she embraces it. Its not actually a bad word, just because you don't use it. My own mother attempted to tell me off for calling Dinklage an Imp, but I pointed out that is what character he plays in Game Of Thrones and so will be forever known as the Imp, it's not a bad thing he's a cool Imp. you are clearly a member of the PC brigade and need to take that large stick out of your arse, and get a life. better than commenting just because someone said midget.

There was one thing funny about this movie, and it was the word: "valium." And it was done to a tee, or tea? Tea I guess would be more appropriate since this is British.

I guess that's why I like to go to movies with absolutely as little foreknowledge of the plot and see it from the before the beginning, because I like to have no preconceptions. And this movie was, to me, hilarious. Yeah, the poop on the hands I could have done without, and the water kept running brown, which, as a mom, I can tell you only happens for a short while. But, again, the funny part wasn't the poop ... it was the characters' reaction to it. Since everyone did his or her part in reacting to the various instigations here, it was, to my mind, brilliant ... and I have to credit that to the direction. Everyone seems to be saying the remake didn't come up to par. I say why remake fine foreign wine? Why not just import it? Is it like Americans can't understand English if it's spoken with a British accent?

Well, if you don't like this one you probably won't like: Adam's Apples, The Tall Blond Man with One Black Shoe (the original French version ... although the Tom Hanks facsimile might be okay, I dunno, I haven't seen it), and My Best Friend's Wedding. I gotta agree with you on Dungeons and Dragons. I haven't seen that either. But I kinda doubt I'd like it.

>posts one very negative message

>brings up his girlfriend despite his obvious virginity (why else would he have ever seen Dungeons & Dragons at the theatre)
>doesn't reply ever again

This is a troll people. Ignore it.

This must be a troll post because this is one of the funniest movies i have ever seen.

If you watched this movie and found it not funny, holy moly you must be a super fun person to be around. What do you find funny?

reply

I thought the film was hilarious as well. Definitely glad to have this in my collection.

Sad story. You got a smoke?

Wow.

I've seen this film at least 5 times now, and I still laugh hysterically throughout the movie.

For me, the humor is in how all these people are trying to maintain their British restraint and normalcy while the world goes crazy around them. The tension just keeps winding tighter and tighter, until everything finally explodes in a tremendous release.

Classic screwball comedy, worth watching over and over.
