Just got done watching this movie. I knew it will be bad but why good actors like Steve Carrell, Steve Buscemi, Jim Carrey and Alan Arkin would associate themselves to such mediocre movies is something I do not understand.
The current rating of the movie is 7.2, I think whoever is reviewing is associated to this movie. Two thumbs down from for the stink pile of crap!
I cannot configure what these thespians are doing here, but this is one fun of a movie. Only through a critic's eyes, I rate it 5/10

Couldn't agree more. Talk about a bad sign of the times for movies. Pretty well known cast and the writing is AWFUL, AWFUL, AWFUL. Lame jokes, bad pacing, characters disappear, reappear. I'm still blown away by the awful script.

I will not go so far as Awful, or S**T, but yeah, I expected better. I wanted to like it (especially given the strong cast). But weak script, no chemistry between Jane & Burt, predictable, and will agree with several who pointed to awkward timing of the humor.
A general disappointment for me.
I didn't make it through 15 mins then turned it off. I don't the patience for crpa like this anymore lol

Yep, the movie sucked. The reason for it being all the (once?) great actors in it. You`d expect more from them than this predictable pile of boredom.
That`s where the movies really shone. In its predictability. The actors were doing an ok job, but there`s only so much you can do with a run-of-the-mill script a 5 year old couldve written, save the last joke at the end.
Spot on. It was so predictable, so generic and I would have given $10 just not to see Olivia get it on with Burt. That was pure bile on top. It was also clear that they have no clue what this new trick would be and then they went the stupid route.
I hate it when movies have a certain theme and story you might think they tell, and it could have been a insanely "magic-off" between Burt and Steve.
But instead we get this absurd cruise ship of old comedians wasting the audiences time. Steve, stop doing this. Please. You are so much better than this.
IMDB ratings are a joke. I normally like the cast but this was just a crappy, unfunny movie. And WTF was MSNBC's Richard Wolffe doing in there????

but also i guess they wanted a fun part (or at least Carrey).
