Dane Cook absolutely ruined this movie

Why couldn't they get someone that can act or isn't a douche bag to play his small role?

Dane Cook initially turned me off from this film. But I later gave in, when I heard what was going to happen to his character towards the end ... That scene made it worth while for me, haha.

I also first thought this guy was pretty much of a goofy miscast. I remember that scene in which he's asking Brooks' secretary for water and I instantly thought to myself I'd like to beat the living daylights out of that guy right now. It was the way he asked for it - knowing he had taken those incriminatory pictures of Brooks committing a murder and, because of it, acting like the King of England or something. Such a dork.

But I really liked his exit. It suited him just perfectly.

On the other hand I don't think his character was designed to be likable or overly intellectual. He's kind of a lucky simpleton who hit the 'jackpot' of his life. In the end his naivity shoots back at him fatally.

I have to disagree with the OP.
I personally don't like his as a comedian, but he was great in here.

DC ... or as I like to say, Dane Cook, was pretty damn good in this. I actually had some respect for him after this movie.

Maybe DC has tortured your child hood dreams like Ben Afleck in a bad Michael Bay (redundant?) flick *COUGH* Pearl *COUGH* Harbor *COUGH* ...

I think DC has a few redeeming qualities - this movie is one of them.

Watching him getting his neck sliced open was pretty fun

The fact that you feel so strongly about his character to post about it here means that he played that role to perfection. The casting in this movie is really great.
