It was just Sandra Bullock reliving the day her husband died while trying to stop it. Which would slowly lead to her finding out why he's not where he is supposed to be.

As it is, it was just an incoherent mess where she lives in parallel universes where her husband is either alive or dead.

This movie had so much potential. It just didn't filter through days coherently. We never really knew which day we were at. Plus she never really used her prior knowledge in smart ways. Yeah she made a cheat sheet of sorts, but so? Nothing that wasn't already memorised. This flick was hard to watch, if only for the lack of her using her premonition superpowers.
