Page 47 is obviously about Area 51! Riley says something about Area 51, Roswell happened in 1947, and at the end of the movie, the President asks Ben about discussing page 47, and Ben says, "that would be LIFE-ALTERING, Sir." Which might mean, time travel or aliens, but most-likely aliens because of all the other clues. It also might be a whole bundle of a lot of things all together. Who knows? That's just my take on it.
I'm not that big in US history or historical buildings, how ever if you put together the Fact that the 'President' has a keen interest in Historical Arcutecture , (why Gates could 'Kidnap him'), and Gate's been a good at solving these sorts of puzzle's Page 47 obviously hold information about secret passages in some form...
I wont even try to say where, but that's my view on it.
Although i loved how we dont get a clue as to what is held on this page..
God, i hope not. They need to stick with ACTUAL history. They pretty much ruined Indiana Jones 4 with this concept, and they need to just stick with much more intriguing(spell that right?) plot concepts. I know it's just fiction, but it's much more believable material than aliens. Ben Gates is an historian not an astronomer. I'm at the point now where they need to just leave aliens out of action adventure plots. That's why i didn't like the 4th Indiana Jones it was more National Treasure type action than hardcore Indiana Jones violence. They made it too kiddy for mature audiences.
Right, Raiders dealt with the all powerful Arc which contained the 10 commandments. Of which dozens of Nazis melted at the sight of the "ghosts" inside.
Temple of Doom, which is essentially a prequel to Raiders btw, dealt with a crazed high priest Mola Ram who is in search of 5 sacred stones that will help him rule the world with their power. Not to mention he can hypnotize people to serve him.
Last Crusade dealt with more Nazis and the Holy Grail. Mostly about immortality and regeneration.
Indiana Jones is more about the paranormal and sci-fi than anything resembling history or treasure hunting. While I didn't agree with the story of part 4, mostly because I can't stand LeBlah as a flavor of the month, it at least kept with what had been seen before. It follows how some believe the actual crystal skulls to be made from.
Just because you disagree, doesn't make it less enjoyable. Each film had a segment where you needed to turn off your brain to enjoy. The 4th was no different than any of the other 3.
Everyone don't forget that the name of the Movie is National Treasure.
Area 51 wouldn't make sense. There is nothing "treasure" about it.
In both movies they find $$$$$$$ and lots of it. Think big when your trying to guess what will happen in NT3.
I hope they make 5 more of these films. They are fast paced and have plenty of comedy and action combined with actual History. They are just was America needs in the theaters right now.
The Temple of Doom wasn't a a prequel, because in the part were Indy is going threw the passage he found in the room they see a drawing on the wall & (I forget her name in the movie) but she asked what is that and Indy says the Arc of the Covenant, and she asked are you sure and he looks at her with his grin and says yes I'm pretty sure.
hey if you all listen to the commentary there are two points where Voight and Turteltaub talk about the page 47 mystery.
the first time is in the library of congress at which point the editor garbled what is being spoken, but if you turn on the commentary subtitles you hear the words " secret...movie ends" ok i admit nothing much there
the second time is at the end credits again the speech is garbled but you hear the words "section two"
now lets put this together
the words section two is a big clue...and if i'm going the right way with this then let's think about something big that has a section two in it. NT already covered the Dec. of Ind. but, the Constitution has many articles along with a section two following each article....i'm not going to fill up this post with verbatim words of each section two, you can all go google Constitution and read each section two at your leisure, but reading each one there are some interesting phrases that could potentially be taken and adapted to make a good story....especially the articles reguarding the banning of alcohol and it's subsequent repeal....
if i am wrong about this theory i'll gladly eat my words when the next movie comes out but hey you know Indiana Jones already did aliens and NT2 never mentioned a single thing about aliens....something tells me they're gonna stick with the historic documents stuff they've been doing...and i hope they do it makes for a more real story IMO
This is far and away the absolute dumbest thing I have ever heard in my life.
My favorite number is 17 so I think what will happen is that the main characters will be looking for treasure worth 17 billion dollars. Also, my favorite color is blue so my guess is that the treasure will come in the form of sapphires.
If anyone thinks differently then that is ridiculous...I obviously have thought this through
Well, it could be related to NATIONAL treasure if it were talking about the Atlantis casino. Maybe p. 47 reveals a sure-fire way to win at blackjack and craps.
"The same thing we do every day, Pinky, TRY TO TAKE OVER THE WORLD!"
You heard it here first and I can't go into the specifics, but the writers are considering either Noah's Ark or the Arc of the Covenant. My source isn't to inside, and they could be wrong, but hey we'll see.
Who knows what National Treassure 3 is about, it could be anything so I'm not guessing. But I hope whatever they choose it will be good for the movie that's all I'm asking them.
First off, why would it be Atlantis? Disney already tried that subject, Atlantis the Lost Empire, and it didn't exactly meet imperial expectations. The Fountain of Youth could be plausible, but if they want to stay in touch with the TREASURE theme, as in lost gold and jewels, it would be in that ball park. Yet how they top a massive Freemason treasure and a temple of Gold? Well the writers could come up with something if a third movie is greenlighted, of course they'll have to GET THEIR HISTORY STRAIGHT. If they do, where can they hide clues? I think they're running out of famous patriotic landmarks.
I'd like it if it was something to do with how America was formed, aka purchases from colonial powers.
Like: 'Page 47. Cheque to Russia for Alaska bounced, Ivan Stereotypich says "Hey, it's cool. Just pay us when you can" He must be joking!' President Wossname.
Or:
'Page 47. The fools are hanging on my every word, soon this worthless colony shall crumble under the might of the Realm. HAIL BRITANNIA! Gen. George Washington.'
Something huge and ballbreaking for the U.S. Which is why it's secret.
