Used To Love This Game!

Most reviews were never too kind to it, citing glicthes, some gameplay repetition, and a bleakly constructed NYC that mostly consisted of buildings that looked the same. But I enjoyed it for months on end...

The cast was spectacular, characters were fascinating and colorful, the action and sound was impactful, the city was drawn to scale to match the actual size and grid layout of Manhattan, and there was a wide variety of crimes to solve that would pop up randomly throughout the city, with their frequency and nature corresponding to the actions you take.

Drawbacks mentioned by critics do hinder its replay value in the present day. The reprensation of NYC is drab and repetitive, the cars are mostly the same, and while there is much stuff to do, there's nowhere near the amount of side quests or incentive to explore that was seen in the old GTA series. Despite all that, it's still pretty enjoyable.

I remember they were planning to make a third edition set in another city but it was canceled.

Have you played Mafia 3?

No I never got to. Was it similar? People derided "GTA clones" but how could anyone deride that formula if done right.

I have it for PS4.

Brilliantly written script, fun game. Awesome music and cars.

Going over to a buddys house on Friday for some beers. This is an awesome drinking game. Haha

Lol being intoxicated while playing will make for an interesting experience - considering the amount of driving and having to read suspect's faces while remembering clues.

reply

Haha yeah! It will be an adventure
