1. Mary Winchester. I know she's not a favorite on this board but I love the character. At age 29, she dies and goes to heaven- presumably some picture perfect life like Ash, Pamela, Bobby, and Jimmy Novak's wife experienced; then she's thrust into the year 2016, where her infant and toddler are now 4 and 8 years her senior; her husband and everyone else she knew is dead, and the only thing she still knows how to do- hunting- is the one thing she spent her adult life trying to get away from. And still she struggles to find/make a place in this new reality. I find her complex and flawed but also interesting and in many ways a reflection of her sons. I realize a lot of people want her gone, but I'll be happy if she sticks around for a while.
2. Jensen Ackles. After what I found to be a painfully boring storyline of Dean and Amara in S11, watching Jensen in Mamma Mia, Celebrating the Life of Asa Fox, First Blood, Regarding Dean, Stuck in the Middle... this is the Dean Winchester I tune in to see. Seriously- watch the scene where Dean meets the Darkness in Out of the Fire, Into the Darkness; then watch the mirror scene in Regarding Dean. Subtlety done wrong can be dull, but when it's done right it can be powerful.
3. Sam and Dean fighting on the same side. It feels almost nostalgic; like in the first 3 seasons of SPN, the Winchesters are fighting for the same cause. They may not always agree on how to get, but they are a team again. It's a dynamic I didn't think they could possibly re-establish after S4. I'm happy I was wrong.

I appreciate your insight on Mary. It's interesting to hear from fans who understand her point of view.
Jensen is always a draw for me too. In any season. I loved his storyline in season 11, I don't know what his storyline this season but I love every moment he's on screen. My hope is that he will use the Lance of Michael at full power to defeat the nephilim. He deserves to bring the Mike slays the serpent storyline that was yanked from under him to completion.
I feel like the brothers have been fighting on the same side since season 10 and I like this trend. I'm worried that Mary's presence might change things. I feel like Sam would do anything to stay on her good side which worries me because I don't think she's a positive force in their lives.
