I'm quite new to this show (only started watching it from the start of the current series) but hearing some one referred to as

..having a face like Dot Cotton licking the p*** off a nettle

had me rolling on the floor laughing.

I lost my job
What? Why?... Not the Phantom Menace?

In S1E04 when it cuts to Hugh, mid-tour of the factory: "Oh this is brilliant, I love these pipes".

I'd have to go with:

"Oh, you fools! Those were good biscuits and they cost four pounds!"

It brings the house down every time.

No , i'm not going to hurt you , i'm gonna rip out your balls & paint eyes on them , stitch them onto the end of a sock & make it our new mouthpiece !

"When I need your advice Terri, I'll give the secret signal. Which is me being sectioned under the Mental Health Act."

Great quote, dominicredfern2000! Episode 6 was back on form after the somewhat disappointing episode 5 (the weakest episode from an otherwise remarkable and consistently superb series 3, imo). This show is replete with truly memorable dialogue, but I still think the opening episode from Series 3 is the funniest, particularly Malcolm's rant likening Nicola to Russell Crowe's character in 'A Beautiful Mind' and psychologically maiming her for being claustrophobic (ie, "Well, that's another fuqqin' thing right there! Not only do you have a bent husband and a daughter that gets taken to school in a fuqqin' sedan chair, you're also fuqqin' mental! See you, you're an omni-shambles, yanno? Like that coffee machine: from bean to cup, you fuqq up!"). Brilliant stuff!

That was my second favourite line from the last episode - my favourite was when Malcolm referred to Ollie as 'the little man in the red and yellow car'

Poor as paupers, proud as kings
All we do is aim for better things

he (malcolm) never gives up, he's like a shark or bob dylan

Im gonna eviscerate you. I dont have your education, I dont know what it means, but Im gonna start by ripping your *beep* cock off.

Or something along those lines :)

I remember the line but I didn't quite get it. Is this a British thing?

reply

The 'little man in the red and yellow car' line is a reference to Noddy, from the children's books written by Enid Blyton. There have also been quite a few telly adaptations. Got this episode from Youtube:

Not a flattering reference, although a pretty mild insult for Malcolm! Whereabouts in the world are you?

He looks like what happens when you punch a cow!

reply

Ah, now that reference is starting to make more since. Yeah, I have to agree with you that this is one of Malcolm's more mild insults. Thanks for the answer. I am originally from Louisiana. Somehow we have never heard of Noddy in these parts.

I used to read Enid Blyton as a kid but totally missed the 'little man in the red and yellow car' reference.

"He could be dressed as Pat Phoenix, wanking into a desk tidy.". Just got the Specials DVD and had to rewind a few times.

reply

Though this show has too many to even quote, my two favorite Glen lines are:
"Gavin Boyes, Glen Cullen. No need for me to get up."
and
"I feel like I am in a therapy group being run by my own rapist."

'I wouldn't piss on you even if you were allergic to piss' also love it just before he says the line when he finds out the news and is so angry he can't undo his seatbelt

reply

"You, are a naughty b@stard"

reply

I still think the first time we meet Malcolm is one of his best. Although his rants are impeccable I also love the bits where his logic is airtight even though we're thinking, 'hang on a second'. The first scene amongst other things (including the first time we see THAT face) also has the line: 'I've written some VERY nice things about you in the PM's response to your resignation. Some VERY nice things.'

Genius.

reply

"Today, you have laid your first big fat egg of solid fuqq."

reply

Like I indicated in a previous post, this has to be one of the most quotable series ever. Nearly every single word that leaves Malcolm Tucker's mouth is worthy of quoting, imo. Anyway, another one that always sticks with me is:

"Yeah, I'm gettin' fuqqin' tinnitus here!" [ Malcolm using hyberbole to get his point across about how "loud" Nicola's dress is ]
