Forrest was good, but DiCaprio was better

DiCaprio's performances in Blood Diamond and The Departed were on a different level, he should've won for either of those ahead of Whittaker

McAvoy was good as well, and should've been nominated for best actor as he was in more scenes than Forrest, but still nowhere near as good as Leo

IMO, Will Smith should've received the award that year for Pursuit of Happyness.

DiCaprio was great in The Departed, which is one of my favorite movies. But better than Whitaker in this? No. While I think The Departed is the superior movie, Whitaker's performance in this clearly outshines DiCaprio's (and anyone else in that movie). Whitaker was just that good in this movie.
