Might be a reference that "mythologically speaking" the Amazons would be from what is now Turkey. Them and Santa Claus.
"Need" is just a fiction. As is "should", "must", "value" and "importance".
Technically the Amazons were Scythians that resided in Sarmatia.
To translate that into modern day terminology they were Iranians that lived in Ukraine.
The Greeks appropriated that part of Scythian culture and added it to their own mythology in the same way that Rome appropriated Greek mythology.
