‘Borat’ Kidnapping Staged, Led To Pamela Anderson Marriage Breakup, Says Sacha Baron Cohen

In the scene, Baron Cohen (playing Anderson-obsessed Borat) approaches Anderson at a book signing. He hopes to put her in a “traditional marriage sack” and take her back to Kazakhstan. Things go bad.

“We did that scene twice, actually,” Baron Cohen said to The Daily Beast. “The first time we did it at a book signing and I grabbed her over my shoulder and ran out with her and no one did anything. I was like, what kind of fans are these?”

The second take drew more of a reaction, but Anderson was accidentally injured in the ensuing struggle, losing a bit of bone in her jaw as a result of fans trying to stop “Borat” from kidnapping her.

Unfortunately, Anderson lost more than the bone. When her then-husband, Kid Rock, saw the film, he flew into a rage. He was said to be particularly miffed at the book signing staged abduction.

Baron Cohen said that when he asked Anderson what her husband thought of the film, “She texted back, ‘He’s getting divorced.’ ”

“I was like, ‘why?’ And she goes, ‘The movie.’ And I thought it was a joke.”

I doubt that is true. Pamela is no Einstein, she might have correlated the two things because they happened close together and maybe kid rock did not like the film.

"(Universal Studio chief ) Ron Meyer held a screening of 'Borat' at his house for a bunch of people, including Pam and Bob (Rock's real name is Robert Richie)," the model's pal tells the Post. "It was the first time Bob had seen the movie, and, well, he didn't like it."

In the film, Sasha Baron Cohen's character, Borat, falls for the "Baywatch" actress and travels the U.S. on a quest to ask her to marry him.

"Bob started screaming at Pam, saying she had humiliated herself and telling her, 'You're nothing but a whore! You're a slut! How could you do that movie?' — in front of everyone. It was very embarrassing," the source said. "Pam thought he could have a sense of humor about the movie. She was in on the gag from the very beginning and loved doing the movie. And on the eve of what was supposed to be a very positive thing, he made it an awful night."

I didn't doubt that you had sources. I just think whatever caused their breakup wasn't a cameo in Borat. Where in the film is she portrayed as a whore or a slut? We are not getting the part of the story which explains his behavior.
She has a sex tape out, one of the first. If KidRock was ok with that then I cannot imagine 30 seconds in a comedy is a big deal.
