Who is Eugene?

This movie pays respects to many well-known movie psychopaths, but what serial killer is Eugene supposed to be?

reply

the answer is obviously that he is a generic killer from movies from the late 60's to 70's that pre-date what we think of as a "slasher film" (jason, freddy, etc.)
this movie takes place in a world where those movies were all real. it does not take place in OUR reality.
everything he makes reference to is about movies, not ted bundy, the zodiac, or any real killer. when he talks about someone not doing it right he is referring to cheesy slasher rip-offs that tried to jump on the halloween and friday the 13th bandwagon.
this movie pays tribute to the slasher genre, not real life serial killers.

I read most of the posts on this thread. Who is Eugene? Zodiac makes sense. So does Leatherface, except he obviously didn't switch up his locale of killing.

I'm a huge horror fan and I love this film. I find it very clever and witty. A compliment to the genre. Two things to keep in mind:

1. Suspension of disbelief (As is the same in all horror movies).
2. SATIRE!

I think amalgamation too.

I thought maybe he was supposed to be the real Leslie Vernon.

I always liked to believe that he was Billy from Black Christmas.
