It would also be like pairing a science graduate with an arts graduate - quite different perspectives on things. King James was really into literature and for a time witchcraft and demonology were serious pursuits (in the context of his vigorous Christian belief system).

Alan Cumming was playing it up like in classic Doctor Who, complete ham he was and very much in the vein of a Carry On movie, he was terrific ... need a movie spin-off of his adventures now, Carry On King James would be a fitting title.
