My kids aren't interested in going to see this...

It's "Honey I shrunk the kid", meets Antz and Buglife...

My kids have no desire to see this movie at all........

Ya seen one or 2 "ant" movies, you've pretty much seen them all.

reply

Oh, & if your children aren't interested in seeing this movie, then don't take them to it--no need to tell the world about it.

reply

I don't have kids but my sperm REALLY REALLY want to see this movie...

and my sperm kicks your kids azz...

Thank you ever so much, no go away.

I thought it was Antz part 2 at first, because they look the same just more....tribal. I can't say I ever want to see it, but I'd rather see it than that terrible cars movie, *Shudders*

Actually, Bruce Campbell makes even the worst movies worth seeing.

terrible "cars" movie??? I've been watching this post and now I'm just ticked off... dont you dare flick off pixar! plus we're talking about The Ant Bully...

anyways... I'm 13 onto 14 and I'm seeing the Ant Bully, Monster House and I've seen the The Wild, Cars, and so much more... i thought Antz was terrible... A Bug's Life was soooo much better... I hope The Ant Bully doesn't turn out like Antz...

Someone insulted "Cars"? I've seen hundreds of movies in my life, and "Cars" as one of the top-10 best. I consider myself a major movie buff, so that's saying something. Also, I'm nearly 18 and I think The Ant Bully looks wonderfully entertaining and I can't wait to see it.

I'm 13 and I can understand how your kids wouldnt want to go see this. There are movies like Pirates of the Carribean allready out and movies like Spider man 3 on their way. nd the commercials really dont help, it just seems like another boring movie made by some old hippies about how we should respect nature. Sounds gay. Mbye if you find a trailer on the internet thet shows some more action, your kids might be more interested.

reply

Ok, Dear Abby, u can stop it

"Boring movie made by a bunch of old hippies. Sounds gay."

I needed a good laugh. Thanks.

I'd much rather watch a dead man with the face of an octopus and the insipid Johnny Depp preening and fawning as Jack Sparrow. I think that that 's probably much better for my kids, too.

I've been suprised by the tween vote on Pirates II. I expected my daughter's friends to love it. They enjoyed it, but said it wasn't nearly as good as the first and that it had way too many special effects.

But, then, their parents are all gay, boring, old hippies, so I guess I shouldn't be too surprised.

reply

"Boring old hippies" and "sounds gay"?
You didn't need to state you were thirteen, your choice of words did so for you.

i have been reading most of the post latley and im very discuss with you people i think anybody should see any movie no matter the age and if kids dont wanna see it the dont wanna see it its people on option to see this movie or not and you should belital or say anything about it so what if a 14 year old wants to see a kids movie or a 16 year old it doesnt matter heck your gonna say that a 30 year old dude went to see it and enjoyed it? and your gonna call him odd? no you shouldnt because he wanted to see it and enjoy it and thats all i have to say

p.s. im 13 for the record

reply

Apparently no one wants to see this, it only made $3 million and came in 5th place in the top ten. This film will only make about $10-11 million this weekend and is officially a flop.

Well I checked showbizdata.com, its not as reliable as Boxofficemojo, sometimes the numbers are a little off, but the order in how well the movies are doing (#1-#10) is usually accurate.

reply

U guys know we are on Imdb the largest movie data base ever and they have a box office link
I refuse to see this movie in theaters because the trailer gave me a headache that little *beep* kid screams 10 times in like 2 minutes

Ward-"Well Beaver, you can't run around naked."

I loved it. My three year old loved it. My eleven year old loved it. My husband loved it. The audience laughed a lot and people stayed around to watch all of the hieroglyphics at the ending. Hmmmmm.

I thought this movie was great. I didn't have high expectations for it after previewing the trailors, however, took two 8 year old girls to see it in the IMAX presentation. I don't know if that made any difference as to the quality of the film, but we thought it was great.... all three of us. We laughed and enjoyed the humor, the plot, the characters, etc.

I understand the preconception that there are too many animated films based around ants, or bugs in general. However, this one was different by adding that human element.

Anyway, I thought it was great... especially since I also took the girls to go see Monster House, which did not measure up to my high expectations for the film. Actually, I'd rather see The Ant Bully again than sit through Monster House for another time.

reply

I agree with roxygirl. I think this is a good one for adults and kids. Monster House is not as good, though I saw that one in 3-D and loved the 3-D! MH needed a better story, though.

"Honey, I Shrunk the Kids" is a great film. It got the audience to sympathize with an ant - a completely realistic, non-anthropomorphized ant! I'll try not to raise my children like yours.
