would a sequel to the tv show have done more $?

Liam Neeson, Bradley Cooper, Rampage, and District 9 guy in new roles (not based on the original characters so D9 not crazy, Rampage not like BA etc), with Jessica Biel. But you have Dirk Benedict, Dwight Shultz, and Mr T returning as Face, Murdock, BA in supporting roles throughout the movie Force Awakens style, and by the end (with the guidance of the original guys) the new A Team is formed..

So on the plus side it'd be a sequel and you'd see the original actors in their iconic roles (not just cameos but supporting roles)

But the negative would be the new guys wouldn't be the original characters so it'd kind of be A Team: The Next Generation.

Alternatively they could've made it a direct prequel to the TV show set in Vietnam in 1972/3 with Neeson etc playing the same versions as the TV ...but then it'd have been like a period piece.(as opposed to doing the prequel/origin in the form of a modern day reboot like Fugitive, M:I, Miami Vice, etc)

I think they were in talks to do a sequel movie with the original cast, then Peppard got sick. The producers of this movie probably decided to start from a clean slate.
