The Poorest film in the IMDB top 250

Whilst I agree that I must be in the minority here, I must admit to being baffled at the high rating. I don't recall laughing once.

When I compare the comedies of the last 40 years to this - and I realise how mnay greats this has topped - then I start to worry about the world we live in.

No wonder this planet is doomed - 90% of its inhabitants are idiots! (yes, i'm in the 10%)

John Candy would be spinning in his grave.

As opposed to the TC's assertions that if you enjoy it you must be stupid?

Perhaps you would've laughed if someone had thrown a pie?

It's called a cult film...

jobo, this is not 'Nam. There are rules.

Juno doesn't deserve to be in the top 250. Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead do.

you got red on you

reply

No....its a c_unt film......a film which only c_unts will find funny.......

reply

wow...really?

Hot Fuzz is no longer in that pointless popularity contest known as IMDb Top 250. However from the movies that remains in the that list, IMO the poorest film is Young Frankenstein. That flick bored me to death.

reply

Almost all British comedies suck and this one is no different it shouldnt be any higher than a 5/10 the damn Euros vote for this too highly because its a movie that they made.

reply

All american comedies suck Iron Mountain. What has the Euro got to do with
this movie ????????????????????????

The best films are made in an intelligent format.

reply

Kinematico, you are a jerk.

i totally agree with OP!

John Candy films (i.e. 'Planes, Trains & Automobiles' (1987) ) are MUCH better than this crap is, especially in the "COMEDY" dept.

how this film here has a 8.0/10 is beyond me.... but then again most of today's comedy's suck vs the old days (say 1980's and maybe some 1990's)... kids today like alot of weird crap vs even say 10-15ish years ago and im not even that old. lol

p.s. im 28 (pretty much 29, in less than a week) years old.

reply

the depth of the storyline is much much deeper than you and your friends realize. This is a TOTALLY different kind of comedy than Planes, Trains, & Automobiles...And don't even try and be funny by saying the non comedic kind or something to that effect. I just can't see why people take time out of there lives to harp on movies they dislike...

reply

On the contrary to OP and those who don't get it.....plus it's only a joke lol.

By their own admission, that's his/her entire childish reason for posting here.

I've already made my substantive comments about the film's merits elsewhere. But if you call someone an "idiot" for predicting a film's disappearance from the IMDb 250 (as ikinmoore did), and if you are proven wrong as ikinmoore was, you can expect a call back now and then.

Besides, humorless fangirls and fanboys who gratuitously insult others are always worth a laugh or two.
