the attack on the Weasley house

A fun enough sequence to watch, sure, but this just always gets me. Why was it added? And at the expense of removing other things. It had no effect on the story. Or impact, since we see in the next movie it's been rebuilt. Heck, they probably fixed it with magic literally the moment we went to the next scene.

In the start of the movie you see Dumbledore use magic to just restore a house for no real reason.

While the Weasley house was burning down i was thinking about how pointless this is because they could magic away the damage.

Even if they couldn't fix it, it didn't seem to serve a purpose other than to show the bad guys are...bad.

Wasn't the purpose of the attack to draw Harry out into the open? If so, then it succeeded.

reply

Oh i don't remember but i think you're right. It makes sense then.

reply

Maybe to add an action element to a book that did not have so much action.
