Original, Uncut DVD version

Does anybody know where I can find a DVD version of Into the West that is uncut and resembles the original episodes that aired on TV? I found a website offering the 6-dvd package, as opposed to the TNT issued 4-dvd package, but I fear that the man offering the 6 pack is simply a bootlegger, and i have been very unhappy with the quality of bootlegs that i have received on the internet in the past. I have heard someone refer to an official uncut "emmy" version, but i cannot find it.

I would really appreciate if someone could let me know where to find the true "12 hour, uncut" version of Into the West. Thanks!

I don't know if you ever found what you were looking for and I know it's been a few years, but Hastings has the dvd set that you're looking for. It's around $30 but at least you know what you're really getting.

Apparently the one way to tell if you have the edited version or if you have the full version is to look for the scene where Sitting Bull prepares of his Sun Dance and his arms are cut. This scene (and other graphic scenes) was not included on the commercial DVD release as they thought it was too graphic for schools.
How many DVDs they actually sold to schools I do not know. I can't imagine it was many, which makes the decision to release the DVDs as edited one damned stupid move!

Like what happen to Naomi after she finally grew to love her new life with her husband and child One Horn Bull?

That IS the "original, uncut" series. It was 12 hours WITH COMMERCIALS. Take out the commercials, and each of the six episodes is about 96 minutes in length.

Three of the discs contain two episodes each. The last disc contains extras.

I found it on Ebay.
