I couldn't stop laughing. As he 'was seeing' the hostage situation play out and reacted while having sex with his wife.. my god. Especially when they opened fire on the first helicopter of hostages he appeared to have an orgasm. I don't know what they were thinking with this scene. I guess they had to have the ending hostage flashback play out during something interesting rather than 'just another dream'..??

It was absolutely ludicrous. I laughed my socks off - it ruined what was otherwise an excellent film.

If he was having PTSD it can cause hyper arousal and flashbacks etc.

Contrast it with sex scene at the beginning of the film, before he had ptsd. They were a happy, loving couple. After his assignment, he can think of nothing else but death, revenge and hopelessness.

Yeah at the beginning he’s casually doing anal with his pregnant wife, at the end he tries classic missionary and finds it so boring he starts thinking about terrorists and cool gunfights.

That was Avner’s ‘journey’.
