Did anyone hear the real recording of Anneliese Michel's exorcism?

Possessed or not, that is SCARY.

No, I've seen pictures of her and that was enough. My sister has listened to it and said it's scary and she's braver then me

I have worked with special needs children and adults and those with psychiatric disorders make similar sounds. The scary thing to me is that her parents chose to go with religion instead on staying with doctors. Maybe she would have gotten better with treatment, maybe not, but her parents made the wrong choice and she wasn't really in the right state of mind to help herself.

Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt.

I absolutely agree that she was not in the right state of mind to know what type of treatment she should have. But she was treated for at least 3 years at phsychiatric hospitals and several different anti-convulsants and psychiatric medications prior to the exorcisms. She also continued taking her medication during the exorcisms.

I am not saying that the way I believe (that she was indeed possessed) is the right way to believe. But by the time they began performing exorcisms on her, she had already been treated with just about every psychiatric medication that was available at the time. (Nowadays, there are many other psychiatric medications available that was not developed at that time).

I can't say how this would have turned out had she never had the exorcisms performed, but I do not believe that her parents and priests chose the exorcisms with a light heart. I believe her parents felt as if they had no other alternative.

She actually should have been institutionalized. At least if she were in an asylum they'd make sure she ate, was hydrated and kept under supervision instead of withering away and dying due to ignorance, negligence and superstition.

Medical science looks after the body, not the soul. You have good reason to sound so confident on the matter though, as all the physical evidence points one in that direction.

There is no such thing as 'souls', it's a religious fabrication.

Listened to it years ago when I learned that the whole Exorcism movie idea, be it the original or this one, is based on 'real events'.
I don't remember the exact words or sounds from the tape.
However, what I do remember is the cold shower rushing down my spine.

And I do not believe in any supernatural things, good or evil -> Atheist.

I’m naturally a skeptic, but those tapes are horrifying and the whole case is absolute nightmare fuel.
