i don't get this post? why would you say this? any person can be popular no matter what race, ethnicity, or etc. it's about the confidence you have in yourself that makes you popular and that's why she was popular. she was also very beautiful at that!

This is old but I have read it's the hair. Not that she is black but the just short, choppy, boyish hair. The same has been said about Hayden Panetierre in Scream 4 and she is white. Her character in Scre4m looks butchy and Guys like long hair on girls.

There were only two characters who were "girls" beside Tamara. One was white, and the other one was black. I don't think there's anything wrong to call her "the black girl". Likewise, Chloe would be referred to as the "white girl".
I thought it was funny because of her jocky pixie cut and jocky style. "Popular" girls are always mainstream pretty. I have yet to see one with a pixie cut like this girl. Race doesn't have much to do with it.

This thread is really laughable. Pixie hair is your argument? Have you guys never seen the movie Grease? Rizzo was a popular bad girl with a short pixie haircut. The black girl was a bully who taunted Tamara, I wouldn't categorize her as "popular", she just was a bitchy girl with alot of attitude. It doesn't matter her race or choice of haircut.......lol
