I'll truly miss this show.

I didn't watch this show religiously but I always caught up on what I had missed.

I was laying on the couch in the living room of my, my mom, and my sister's rented three bedroom apartment in Hillsboro, Oregon, USA on a Wednesday night back in 2003 when I was 20 years old with nothing scheduled to watch on television. While I was flipping through the channels, I came across a little unknown show called "Mythbusters" and it caught my interest. It was not until several episodes of causal watching here and there, when I decided to watch religiously and boy am I glad I did. Being that I grew up in Modesto, California, USA from birth to 15 years old and have/had family living in San Jose, California, USA (before was living in Redwood City, California, USA), Sunnyvale, California, USA, Vacaville, California, USA, Winters, California, USA, and Modesto, California, USA, whenever Adam and Jamie took a trip around the Bay Area or the Central Valley, it was cool that I could say that I knew where they were filming. It was fun to hear and see what myths were being tested. My favorite has to be the Shredded Plane myth. I was just as much excited as Adam was. I could not believe Buster was taken out like that in the final show; I almost started crying. Long live "Mythbusters." If there ever is a show as entertaining as this in the same subject matter, it will not even compare.

I found the show in a similar way. I was watching the tv guide channel in 2005 as it scrolled through the various programs available (this was RIGHT before we got proper digital cable where you could browse through tv guide instead of waiting for the scrolling), and I saw something called "Mythbusters" on the Discovery channel. I took a look, and thought some of the stories were interesting, and it kinda took off from there.

8 years later, I downloaded as many seasons as I could onto my laptop, and I watch them from time to time, though I don't have the last 3 seasons, so I watch those on Hulu.

Same here. I'm going to catch up on the episodes that I've missed over the years.

The current marathon has eased my pain for now, and I imagine they'll be plenty more. Whenever they have one, I literally just leave my TV on whatever channel it is, and don't change it until it's over.

All episodes of "Mythbusters" will now be in the science channel. No episodes will air in Discovery anymore. ?

reply

I'm sure that Discovery will have Mythbusters marathons from time to time since it's one of their most popular shows.

I highly doubt it. If there is going to be a MythBusters marathon, it will likely be on the Science Channel which I used to get until Comcast decided I needed to pay extra for which I refuse to do.

I got turned off from this show when they claimed CDs could not spontaneously shatter in a CD-ROM drive. It happened to me.
