I'm a 60+-year-old crazy cat lady (Irish/American Indian mixture) living in the Midwest, and I love this movie! I love everything by Stephen Chow, but this is my favorite. He's so beautifuly on-target that it's obvious he knows his subject matter thoroughly.

While I love Chow's character (not so bright but very cute), the landlady is hysterically funny! She doesn't have to say a word and I'll be laughing till the tears come. The Coyote/Roadrunner-style chase is fantastic! I just now shared it with a friend in Las Vegas who enjoyed it very much.

I'm watching the film yet again on Starz Comedy.

EDIT: By the way: I've been watching martial arts movies since I was a teen in the mid-Sixties. I love the combination here or so many things I recall from those films, appreciating the comic spin. And, the love story is sweet.

I absolutely agree about the dubbing adding so much to the feeling of the film. I'd watch a subtitled version if it was available, but, for now, I'll watch the dubbed one. I know that I've spent years telling people that the movies are not badly dubbed and that it's simply because the languages are so different. Many fans of the genre delight in this, as 007 stated.
