Looked too young to be Brendan Fraser's love interest. I caught this movie in the middle and thought she was closer to the kid playing the nephew. Why does hollywood keep doing this?

She was 27 and Brendan was 38 at the time - I don't think 10 years is that big of a deal. You wanted her to be 13 year old kid's love interest? Yea she looked little young but you could tell she is a woman and not a teenager. Plus that was part of the plot in the movie. She was cast deliberately that way - old enough for the man but young looking enough for the kid - so you had the competition between the two. It did not bother me.

why does real life keep doing this? I don't know where you live but here on earth there are all kinds of couples with all sorts of differences including older/younger with much larger age gaps than we see here. whatever blows your skirt up I always say.

I tuned in half way through and thought she was his daughter!

For some reason (with the exception of Brooke Shields) they always give Brendan Fraser actresses who are close to a foot shorter than he is.I wish they would either cast taller women or give them an apple box to stand on.)
Given that in the "real world" he seems to choose taller, buxom/zaftig women closer to his own age,(as do I) I question why, especially when he is one of the executive producers, he does not state his personal preferences for a leading lady?

I don't think he can help it, he's a pretty tall actor.
