...according to the deleted scene commentary. The original ending tested badly, of course, so the studio demanded the happy ending be filmed. Thank God for studio "meddling."

Them losing wouldnt have been that bad if they didnt just cut the movie off right there and then. Makes me think they just said that was the original ending

Surprising that the film makers didn't want to change the ending if it tested poorly. I think it would have been OK if the Purple Cobra's would have won the game, but having Average Joe's come out on top some other way, such as the betting or something else. Not much of a true underdog story if they lose. I'm glad they changed it. I'm sure Chuck Norris had a hand in it.
