Does anyone else think this movie just didn't quite work?

...and can you say why?

I have a theory but I'll write it later

reply

Er no. One of my favourite low brow comedy films. Love it. Watched it again Sunday morning.

reply

Nope.
I watch it every time they air it.
Pretty funny.

No this movie is hilarious.

reply

No, I think it worked very well, but do post why you think it didn't.

Unless it is about the bribe/sale or the betting, that has been done.

Gee Woodle, Space Kadoodle!

reply

Yeah, with the bribe/bet, no [sane] judge would honor it, even if what he (Vince's character) said made sense. You can't bet on an event five minutes before you magically insert yourself back in it, after taking bribe money to quit in the first place. There's so much conflict of interest, it looks bad, and it just wouldn't jive in any court. Hell, White could just claim that his water at the event 'tasted funny'. This would create reasonable doubt, on top of everything else.

Actually, if you watch the movie, Vince's character is the real douche. Sure, white has some douchiness to him as well, but his general intentions are good. This is one of those movies where the ending could've gone either way, in all honesty.

reply

Hilarious ? Are you serious, this is spoon fed trash for idiots, but then again you americans like trash, let the retards have their pie.

reply

No I've always found this hilarious.

reply

There was nothing I found offensive about it. It's nothing special but there are certainly worse ways to kill 90 minutes.
