Am I the only one thinking it's a good movie???

Just saw this movie last night on tv, and I enjoyed it a lot... I think Paul Bettany is great in it... He's very very funny! I was quite disappointed with all the "I drink beers, and spend my time sleeping during the tournament" stuff, but the tennis moments looked nice to me!
The romance was nice too, even if sometimes I thought something was missing!!
But I'll buy the DVD now!!!

Does anybody here thinks it's a nice movie???

I thought Paul Bettany was great in the movie. He was very funny and made me a fan with this performance. Kirsten Dunst was a poor choice for this movie. She is definatly not living up to her early potential as an actress (just an opinion)

I just watched this movie on DVD and I loved it too! One of the better sport movie out there and definitely a good ambassador for sport of Tennis

And like what the Doorman said to Peter before he leave for his final match, "and I don't even like Tennis"

no, you are not alone. am not a dunst fan, and this was not even shown in our cinemas in Manila. but i saw the dvd and thought i would try it. paul bettany was so cool. it is one of the best feel-good romantic comedies made in a long while. in a scale of 1-10 i would give it a 7.5. i wonder why this did not become a huge hit. is it because bettany was relatively an unknown actor and not a hearthrob like orlando bloom? he can definitely act better than bloom! : )

I'm a 22 year old male, and I thought "Wimbledon" was a very good movie! I saw it in the theater and really enjoyed it, and now am a proud owner of the DVD!

You are not alone, Rose. I loved this little movie... granted it wasn't a smash box office hit.. but I liked the idea of Peter Colt the "journeyman tennis player" ending his career with the ultimate prize Wimbledon and I liked the idea that Lindsay didn't win that year.

But wasn't Paul Bettany adorable with that cute little boy on his lap that hit him in the head with the tennis racket? awwwwwwwww.
