Season One, Episode Ten: Mr. Wu

An opium theft leaves Swearengen trying to find a common language with his supplier, and navigating murky waters to deal with the mess. Meanwhile, Silas Adams, bagman for the magistrate from Yankton, arrives with bad news for Swearengen. Bullock regrets having raised his hand at the government meeting. An unwelcome and ailing Reverend Smith gravitates to the Gem and its new piano.

Simply amazing episode! No missteps in this one. From the A plot all the way to the D, perfection! Episodes like Mr. Wu are the reason it wasn't television...it was HBO! 9.5+

I just watched this episode. It was great.

The reverend is such a tragic character. I feel so sorry for him and it's honestly a little painful to watch him be sick. I loved the moment at the end of this episode when he went to see Seth and Sol and then they walked him back to his tent, almost made me tear up, poor reverend.

Terribly tragic indeed. Ray Mckinnon does an amazing job👍 and yes, his interaction with Star /Bullock is heart wrenching😟
