ah, lets solve this. Votre argument est stupide. First off, jungle book was a real book, not just a disney movie. the main charecter was a boy. Tarzan Is a GUY! Boo hoo that the charecter isnt a girl!
Hmmmmm.... Not that an original movie about a female Tarzan-copycat, or a female Mowgli-copycat character wouldn't be a bad idea. Actually, they've already had a sort of female Tarzan type, and she's been around for years and years and has had at least one movie and at least one TV series done about her. Her name is Sheena.
Dunno if there's ever been a female Mowgli copycat, however. Would probably be fun to see, though.
And your idea for a bunch of girls stranded on a island taking care of babys is stupide! No one in there right mind except a little 5 year old girl would want to see that.
Uhhhhhmmmmm.... Actually, there IS a story by that title and description out there. Here it is at

Its not the movie industry that is sexist, it is you who is sexist. Im sure feminism went out of style with the seventies stuff. Hippies died, so did the feminist movment. Just becuse they dont want to use a bratty girl for the main charecter doesnt mean there sexist. it means, they are realistic. If a girl were stranded in the jungle, they would cower under a tree and cry, a boy would survive and be able to do thing. Face it, theres a reason things are manly. Becuse they are Very unusal for a girl to do. No on really wants to see little sarah run around the jungle taking care of babys. Why dont you just call it, Lord of the Cabbage Patch, insted of baby island. Becuse thats what it sounds like. Sorry, keep lord of the flys the way it is, and not flood the market with weman only movies.
And as I have stated above, there
really is a novel entitled
Baby Island, with the exact plot specified.
As far as
Lord of the Flies, there's also a female version of that situation, too. Check out
John Dollar by Marianne Wiggins, about a group of preteen schoolgirls who get stranded on an island after a sea disaster and must fend for themselves... and it's every bit as brutal as
Lord of the Flies, albeit going off in a different direction. Would probably also make a really powerful movie.
No want wants to see The Visit from the Red man of china, the story of 100 women in one room, all on their period. sorry, but it wont make a good movie just becuse you thought the book was good when you were 7 and still reading the baby sitters club.
What about "House of Flying Daggers"? Or "Curse of the Golden Flower"? "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon"? All of these are oriental historical or semi-historical movies with a powerful fighting-woman in a leading role.
I'm sure there are more.
Of course, leaving the orient behind, there's this "Pan's Labyrinth" thing coming out really soon, focusing on a 13 year old girl living in a really ugly reality and getting tangled up into an even nastier "fantasy realm."
